1 ml per ounce of kitten if hand rearing every two hours. If topping up, the same amount once in the morning, once in the evening. Usually a judgment call... Penny :D

thankyou penny. i was worried about overfeeding tiny kittens. they have plenty of milk from mum but she is finding it hard. also thought about putting some with my other girl whos kittens are 5 weeks old, would this be a good idea, she has plenty of milk but then she is still feeding one smaller kitten.

Also the older kittens would trample & could hurt the newborns, if you tried to put some of them in with them & the newborns would get knocked off the titty by the older kits!! :!: :!:
I once tried to have three week old kittens in the same kitten box as newborns, but the older kittens were far too mobile & trampled the newborns, so I had to separate them!! :!:

OMG.... im so shocked. around 3am my girl was growling, i couldnt be bothered to get out of bed, just thought well i wouldnt have much patients with 9 kittens. to my surprise there appears a silver kitten. now that makes 10 kittens. alls fine but i paid for a vet to come to my home and check the mum and he never said anything about a retained kitten. i never in the past believed kittens could be born a day or two after as the vet says any retained kittens will be stillborn and its not possible for queens to continue labour aday later..... well sorry mr vet but you are wrong. it does happen and this silver kitten is beautiful.
