Yesterday my little girlie Asassynz Gildingthelily (Lulu) won her
Open class + BOB, 1st in Persian breeders kitten and 2 x 3rds
in the other two classes.

She has been placed in every class she has entered so far, coming up against some really beautiful Persian kittens.

Congratulations to everyone that had a successful day yesterday.

Thanks Mary and Penny,

its a shame I didn't get to meet you then Mary!

Have to admit that so far my girl seems to enjoy shows, its only her
second one but she seems to be completely unphazed by all the noise
and commotion that you get at shows. :D

CONGRATULATIONS to you and Lulu !!!!! A friend reported back to me about the show. It seems again the Persian entry was low, so keep the flag flying for the breed !!!!! I dont know, but from what I can make out the vetting in was a bit harsh for some Persian owners. Someone was rejected as their kitten had watery eyes. The temperature was taken and the glands checked all normal. Nothing wrong with the owners two other exhibits. Of course vetting in is a MUST, but I have found some vets to be so heavy handed, not a good thing with a kitten on its first outing to have its mouth yanked open or every notch in its tail squeezed to see if there is a blimp in it.
Anyway, NOTHING wrong with your girl !!!!!!

Their were talks a while back that some of the TICA shows were going to abandon vetting in. As Pam says vetting in can be a nightmare what do you think.Penny :D

Yes I heard about that from one of the exhibitors there who told me that lots of people seemed to have been rejected at vetting-in at the Lancs.

I very nearly had a problem with that at the Notts and Derby a few weeks ago. It was a very long walk to the hall from where we were parked and also quite windy too and by the time we reached vetting in and I got my girl out of her carrier, one of her eyes was quite watery (the long walk against the driving wind must have affected her eye as they were perfect before).

Needless to say I had a lot of questions from the vet but she seemed quite happy with my explanation at the end and let her through.

I would not like to have to go through that too many times, very un-nerving and could so easily have turned the day into a complete disaster.

I can appreciate that the vets are only doing their job but some of them seem to relish in rejecting exhibitors cats for any slight reason.
