Hi Veejay, it's Sheila's kitten having vaccinations :)
Dexter had the 3 in 1 plus a seperate leukaemia jab done by the breeders vet. I would probably have done the same anyway myself as I agree with you, if a cat is going outdoors (or mixing with cats that do) they should have it really :D
I know neutering boys is a simple procedure but you still worry don't you  I won't be happy til Dex is back home with me tomorrow night hopefully completely fine :D
Em x

Hi Sheila - the milk may be the culprit as it can be a bit rich for young kittens, but it's a good idea to see the vet anyway to rule anything else out. Hope the kitten soon recovers :D

It's still a worry, I agree Em, but this procedure is now done under a local anaesthetic, so is even less hassle. :D The girls still have it tough though, that's a GA

Yes, honest, I was shocked too. When they gave Django back to me I commented on how lively he was considering he'd had a GA, and I was told they don't do them anymore for straightforward castrations. I don't know if that's a general thing now or whether it's just my vet's practice :? Anyway, good luck!

em is having dexter neutered not vaccinated  dont worry em, dexter will come home bombing around the home like hes never been done.
sheila.... i wouldnt recommend the leukemia vaccination at this stage, ive also had problems with this vaccination on young kittens. i do have it done once they are a year old and stronger to cope with it.
glad you found this forum helpful. many people have helped me so much through good and bad times and you get to learn so much from other peoples experiences. hope the little kitten gets better. :D

I have never heard of neutering under local anasthaetic either, it should be cheaper then, as vets are always saying its the GA that bumps the costs up :(
I would query the price Em, if thats the case :?

i think you will find wendy is right, and it should cost £34 for a male neuter. we will all wait patiently for you to tell us em on how dexter is after is operation. he will be fine so try not to worry too much. (easier said than done i know). :D
