Post subject:  Illegal Pet Trade Beware.

Once again and all too quickly it is another New Year. Those that have been with us from the outset and new members will know that kittenlist.co.uk has always prided itself on a personal level, trying where possible to keep scammers at bay.
We are not responsible for the content of peoples websites, or the breeders, but we do hope the breeders that are contacted from adverts on here are helpful in finding your new kitten.
I cannot impress more now than ever before, your need to know, that the breeder you are obtaining your new kitten or cat from is actually who they maintain they are.
In recent months their have been in the media articles about puppies being illegally imported from other areas bred in puppy mills from the outlying european block entering this country without any vaccinations,or health checks on forged passports.
This unfortunately has occurred since the UK 6 months quarantine law was quashed and just the need for 1 month for animals to enter the UK put in it's place.
This can just as easily apply to cats and kittens as dogs and puppies etc.
We all need to be vigilant in checking out our source when obtaining, contacting or being contacted via e-mail.
I am not talking about breeders advertising on kittenlist .co.uk, but criminals working across the other networks/media attempting to deceive and sell all livestock illegally.
Unfortunateley it is the laxity in the European laws that have laid this door open, not honest breeders.
Once again a reminder do not send money upon request unless you are sure of the source.
No Matter how good the offer looks. When in doubt don't. We are here to help where possible.
Penny :D
